Privacy Policy

Short version: your files and clipboard data never leave your device. This page covers the little we do collect.

Last updated: 3 September 2026

1. What we don't collect

CSV Studio and Magpie are local-first. File content you open, edit, clean, or convert in CSV Studio, and clipboard history captured by Magpie, are stored only on your own device. Neither app uploads that content to DataForge Tools or any third party. CSV Studio Pro license checks happen entirely offline, on-device — the app never phones home to verify a license.

2. What we do collect

If you buy CSV Studio Pro, we (via our payment provider, Paddle) receive your email address and the transaction record for that purchase. We store your email, transaction ID, and the license key we issue you, so we can email you the key and can re-send it later if you use license recovery. That's the entire contents of our customer database — no other account data, no usage analytics, no file content.

This website uses Google Analytics to see aggregate traffic patterns — which pages get visited, which downloads and checkout buttons get clicked — but only after you accept the cookie banner; it's off by default and stays off if you decline. We don't use any advertising or fingerprinting tools. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes standard connection logs (like IP address and request timing) as part of serving the site and defending against abuse — this is infrastructure-level logging we don't separately access or analyze.

3. Third parties we use

  • Paddle — handles checkout, payment, invoicing, and tax as merchant of record. Paddle's checkout overlay may set its own cookies during the payment process. See Paddle's Privacy Policy.
  • Resend — delivers the transactional email containing your license key after purchase, or when you use license recovery.
  • Cloudflare — hosts this website and the licensing service, and provides CDN/network-level security.
  • Google Analytics — if you accept the cookie banner, tracks page visits and button clicks (like downloads and starting checkout) in aggregate. We don't send it your name, email, or anything from a purchase. See Google's Privacy Policy. You can withdraw consent any time by clearing this site's cookies in your browser, which brings the banner back.

We don't sell or share your data with anyone beyond what's needed to run these services.

4. How long we keep it

Purchase records (email, transaction ID, license key) are kept for as long as your license is expected to remain usable, so license recovery keeps working. You can ask us to delete this record — note that doing so means we can no longer re-send your license key if you lose it, so keep a copy somewhere safe first.

5. Your rights

You can ask what data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by contacting us below. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws like the UK GDPR or EU GDPR.

6. Children's privacy

Our products aren't directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.

7. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date above.

8. Contact
